Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Dispenser, your duties will include:

• Dispense prescriptions accurately and safely in accordance with legal and professional standards.
• Process prescription requests, including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and preparing medicines for collection.
• Provide clear and accurate healthcare advice to patients and customers.
• Assist patients with queries regarding medicines and pharmacy services.
• Ensure customers leave the pharmacy feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, company policies, and professional guidelines.
• Support efficient dispensary operations to ensure timely prescription processing.
• Minimise dispensing errors and contribute to safe medicine management practices.

Candidate Requirements

Required

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
• Current or previous experience working as a Pharmacy Dispenser.
• Strong understanding of dispensing procedures and pharmacy operations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

• Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience within a community pharmacy setting.
• Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing systems and software.
• Knowledge of NHS prescription processes and pharmacy regulations.

Training Support

Candidates who do not currently hold a Medicines Counter Assistant qualification will receive support to complete the required training within six months of joining the pharmacy.
