About the Role

QBE Europe is recruiting an experienced Project Manager to join its London team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This hybrid role offers flexible working arrangements and focuses on delivering change within the Claims and Operations space.

You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing key projects or workstreams within larger programmes of work. Projects typically range from £1–2m in cost and may be technically focused, requiring clear communication and careful management of scope, timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead and oversee end‑to‑end project management, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
  • Work with the Transformation Office to shape initiatives and present business cases.
  • Create and manage project and resource plans to meet business requirements.
  • Develop communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Set, manage, and report on project budgets.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate testing and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Lead and support project teams, managing third‑party resources.
  • Ensure all delivery stages align with project assurance standards.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally within insurance or financial services.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and fairness, offering balanced views.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to respond to shifting priorities with urgency.
  • Experience managing project budgets effectively.
  • Skilled in producing clear, impactful reports, proposals, and presentations.

  • Qualifications in Programme/Project Management.
  • Experience managing cross‑functional teams and vendors.
  • Familiarity with IT projects and process improvements.
