What the Role Involves
- Assisting with personal care, including showering, strip washing, bathing, oral care, grooming, and dressing
- Supporting toileting and continence needs, including pad changes and skin integrity management
- Preparing meals, drinks, and snacks, and serving them at the right times
- Assisting with feeding to ensure adequate food and drink intake
- Assisting with medication once competence has been tested
- Helping with planning and shopping
- Light housework, such as vacuuming and washing dishes
- Supporting visits to health professionals — hospital, GP, or dentist appointments
- Providing emotional support through listening and conversation
- Companionship and shared activities, such as films or card games
- Accompanying service users on trips and holidays
- Helping look after service users' pets
Who Can Apply
- Prior care experience is helpful but not essential — full training is provided to the right candidates
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Two satisfactory references required
- Completion of mandatory training required
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required
- GCSE or equivalent preferred
- English language required
